What to expect

Our interview process

Step 1: Video Screen Call

Our Recruiting team will ask a handful of screening questions to ensure you are a good fit for a Developmental Paraprofessional (DPP) position. Some of these will focus on your experience and skills, many will focus on logistics (e.g., Do you live close enough to our clients? Do you have availability in your schedule that matches theirs?). Assuming your resume aligns with an open DPP position, we will invite you to participate in a video interview. This first step screening call will be with camera on, so please ensure you are dressed for the part.

  • Length of interview: 30 minutes
  • What to wear: Business casual
  • Interviewer: Member of our Recruiting team
Step 2: Video Interview

You excelled in the video screen - congrats! Now, we want to know about particular skill sets, how you handle potentially tense scenarios, emotions and communication. During this time, we will discuss your experience and how it may apply to our open DPP positions. We’d like to learn about your interests and experiences with children, as well as any knowledge you have regarding developmental needs. We will explain this very hands-on position, involving different types of families and dynamics. Feel free to ask about the job, culture, on-the-job examples, success stories, etc. We love questions and are happy to share! This interview is conducted live via video as well.

  • Length of interview: 30 minutes
  • What to wear: Business casual
  • Interviewer: Member of our Recruiting Team.  Potential follow-up with a member of our clinical team
Step 3: Decision

We value your time and interest in our organization, therefore, we are committed to communicating all decisions directly to candidates within 24-48 hours of your completed interview. This part of the process is detail oriented so feel free to take notes (although everything will be provided in writing following the offer call). The Recruiter will sign you up for orientation, the New Hire Training (NHT) course, discuss your offer details, and answer any questions you may have.

  • Length of interview: 20 minutes
  • What to wear: Business casual
  • Interviewer: The Recruiter who interviewed you
Step 4: Onboarding and Training

Our onboarding begins immediately.  We will send you a link to our internal HRIS, Rippling.  The system will guide you through account registration, including all required paperwork, as well as provide information about any necessary background checks, health testing (sometimes a TB test is required) and fingerprinting.  Once you accept our offer, you’ll be enrolled in a training cohort.  You will receive further communication from us, including details about your training schedule and information regarding your official start date.  You will be given full access to the training materials on your first day.

Step 5: Match with Families

The final step in our process is to match you with a client! This happens toward the end of training, after all requirements for the onboarding process have been completed. You will be asked to fill out a form in the PD app, indicating your availability for scheduling as well as certain criteria to ensure a good “fit”. Our matching process is two-way; we ask clients about their criteria and strive to connect like-minded folks. You should expect to be matched to a family within 2 weeks of completing training.

Are we a good fit for you?
