The Positive Way Internship
The Positive Way Internship includes paid training and compensation for the hours spent working directly with families. There are 25 hours of unpaid administrative tasks and a 60-minute bi-weekly reflective supervision group that must be completed throughout the internship. Administrative work can be arranged with our clinical team to fit your schedule.
Internship offerings
You'll see firsthand how our clinical model benefits clients and families. We offer orientation, ongoing training, unique learning experiences, along with 1:1 mentoring. Our goal is for successful interns to start their careers with Positive Development and continue to grow with us.
Who you are
- Junior or senior student (age 18+ required) with at least 2 years college experience
- Have an interest in child development and developmental disabilities
- Capable of lifting heavy objects, frequently getting up and down from the floor, and engaging in active play with children
- Maintain a natural sense of patience, empathy and understanding
- Have a reliable source of transportation
Administrative responsibilities
- Help therapists create and prepare therapy materials
- Develop materials such as board markers, social stories, and calendars
- Prepare and clean up meals for the feeding program
- Assist in reorganizing and sanitizing the space
- Perform other related tasks as needed
